Scope: Onboard Passenger Information, Connectivity, and Tracking Systems

Overview
The KLAV27 project involves the design and development of onboard communication and passenger information systems for Kuala Lumpur’s urban rail network.
The system integrates Passenger Information Displays (PIS), onboard Wi-Fi, and GPS modules to deliver real-time travel information, route tracking, and enhanced passenger communication.
The goal is to establish a standardized onboard architecture for integration with the central Operation Control Center (OCC) and improve system reliability across the fleet.
My Role
I am responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing all technical documentation including Preliminary and Final Design Review (PDR/FDR) packages, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, Training Manuals, and Method of Statement (MOS) for installation and testing activities.
I developed system schematic drawings, rack layouts, and network diagrams for onboard implementation using AutoCAD and Inventor, ensuring proper allocation for Wi-Fi and GPS hardware integration.
I also attend technical meetings with clients and stakeholders to address design comments, provide technical clarifications, and coordinate documentation submission and approval.
The FAT and SAT documentation packages are completed and ready for execution once system integration reaches the testing stage.
Outcome
- Completed comprehensive documentation and design packages for onboard PIS, Wi-Fi, and GPS systems.
- Established groundwork for system testing and integration phases.
- Improved design coordination and documentation standardization for future onboard communication systems.
