Scope: Wayside PA, PID, PHP, TEL, and MCS Systems

Overview
The Jakarta and Palembang Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects were developed to enhance urban connectivity in Indonesia through a fully integrated railway communication and safety network.
The scope included the design and implementation of Wayside Public Address (PA), Passenger Information Display (PID), Passenger Help Point (PHP), Telephone (TEL), and Master Clock System (MCS) across all stations.
My involvement focused on the acoustic design and performance validation of the PA system, ensuring clear, reliable communication throughout both Jakarta and Palembang LRT networks.
My Role
I was responsible for preparing, executing, and analyzing the acoustic simulation studies for all LRT stations using EASE software.
This included modeling room acoustics, positioning speakers, simulating SPL and STI results, and producing complete acoustic design reports for client approval.
I also participated in technical meetings with local stakeholders, including architects and designers in Indonesia, to align the acoustic design with architectural and interior constraints.
In addition, I supported system troubleshooting and participated in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for the PA system, verifying sound quality and system stability on-site.
Outcome
- Completed full acoustic simulation and reporting for all Jakarta and Palembang LRT stations.
- Improved PA system performance and speech intelligibility through detailed modeling and design refinement.
- Strengthened collaboration with architects and stakeholders to ensure acoustic integration within station design.
- Provided on-site technical support during troubleshooting and SAT, ensuring the system met operational standards.
